Mesmer's skill for health.
Mesmer is my preferred profession and I have dedicated to it most of the time.
At the beginning I made a mesmer/monk and I used Healing Breeze and I was thinking all the time that mesmers lack of a variety of skills for selfhealing. (Elementalists too seem to lack of them; with my elementalist I used an Earth build with Troll Unguent). In my view, Ether Feast has a too long recharge time, which does not allow to relay on it alone.
Death by degeneration is something for which the mesmer has not a pertinent counter. I have tried a build with Mantra of Recall and Contemplation of Purity; to avoid a simple death by some condition or hex. (There is also the case that Contemplation of Purity allows to dream on getting some profit of a fast recharge of the Mantra of Recall).
At present, for self defense in the arenas I use a combo of Ether Feast + Distortion + Spirit of Failure. But, I am thinking that it would be pertinent that there where some other skill to get health, something like:
Ether flux. For 1...9 seconds, foe has an energy degeneration of 1 and you have a health regeneration of 5 for 2...12 seconds. (Inspiration Magic)
After last changes Distortion has become too expensive in energy bellow 8 illusion, so that now there is less flexibility to make builds which imply illusion (for Distortion) + domination + inspiration and the need of more inspiration skills for health or protection is greater, I think.
